Holy Cross junior Jolie Creo has been selected to the 2021 All-Patriot League second team in women's lacrosse, as voted by the conference's head coaches. Creo started all six games at attack for the Crusaders this season, and led the team in scoring with 36 points on 27 goals and nine assists.

The College of the Holy Cross is pleased to announce that Emma Davison '21 has been selected to deliver the Class of 2021 valedictory address at the Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 21.

Holy Cross head football coach Bob Chesney has announced the addition of 14 student-athletes to his team's roster during the early signing period on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Alison Emery '23, Angelo Carbone '22 and Bridget Whelpley '21, who took home multiple prizes at the Brenau Invitational Mediation Tournament. The team won second place in both the Mediator and Advocate/Client categories. In addition, students Bridget Whelpley '21 and Angelo Carbone '22 won first place in the individual award category for best Advocate /Client Scores. Whelpley also won first place In the Individual Mediator category and was presented with the Elizabeth Baumgardner Award, which is given to the Individual student with the highest combined score in the mediator and advocate roles at this tournament.

Thirty-one Holy Cross students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society founded in 1915, at a virtual ceremony held recently. The new inductees exemplify the society's values of excellence in scholarship, loyalty and service.

Holy Cross' Chapter Omicron Epsilon of the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society Sigma Delta Pi has been named an "Honor Chapter" for its outstanding activities in 2019-20, an award that was bestowed to only 11 out of 627 chapters nationwide in 2019. This is the 4th time since 1997 that Holy Cross has received this distinction. Co-Chapter Advisers Bridget Franco, Daniel Frost and Rodrigo Fuentes, as well as the 20 students involved in this society, were instrumental in earning this year's recognition.

Six members of the Class of 2020 have been awarded Fulbright grants to teach or conduct research abroad during the 2020-21 academic year. This year's recipients are headed to Germany, the Czech Republic, India and Malaysia. The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, is widely recognized as the most prestigious international exchange program in the world. The highly competitive grants are awarded on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential.

Less than two years after its founding, the Holy Cross chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society won the "Best New Chapter" award. The national organization lauded the Holy Cross chapter for "cultivating a broad membership base" and "gaining a prominent place in campus life." The Alexander Hamilton Society is a non-profit, non-partisan student organization committed to principled U.S. leadership in global affairs and educating upcoming leaders about America's role in the world.

The team won first place in the Mediator category and placed fourth in the Advocate/Client pair category. In addition, students Caitlin Marple '21 and Jake Mozeleski '22 received first place individual awards in the Advocate/Client category, with Marple also receiving a third place individual award in the Mediator Category.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Erin E. Durkin on receiving the 2020 Study Abroad Independent Project Prize. The Study Abroad Independent Project Prize is given for initiative, seriousness of purpose, and excellence in a Study Abroad Independent Project.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Meaghan R. Moran on receiving the 2020 Edward F. Wall, Jr., Prize. The Edward F. Wall, Jr., Prize is awarded annually to a fourth-year student whose research essay in any field of history is judged by the Department of History to be exemplary. The prize is in memory of Edward F. Wall, Jr., a former Chair of the Department and Class Dean, who was a member of the faculty for 34 years.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Andrew P. Gerety on receiving the 2020 Shirley Verrett French Prize. The Shirley Verrett French Prize in Memory of the Rev. Lionel P. Honore, S. J. is awarded to the top French major in the graduating class as determined by the French faculty.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates William O. LaFiandra on receiving the 2020 Freeman M. Saltus Prize. The Freeman M. Saltus Prize is awarded for excellence in writing essays on labor or economics.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Eleanor M. Oser on receiving the 2020 Strain Gold Medal. The Strain Gold Medal is given for the best essay submitted during the academic year on a subject taken from the field of philosophy.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates MaryGrace S. King on receiving the 2020 James H. Reilly Memorial Prize. The James H. Reilly Memorial Prize is given to the student who has contributed the best poem or short story to "The Purple," a literary magazine written, edited and published by Holy Cross students to provide a showcase for critical and creative writing.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Alessandro V. Campagna on receiving the 2020 George Bernard Shaw Award. The George Bernard Shaw Award is given for the best essay in dramatic literature or film.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Katherine A. Goza on receiving the 2020 Maurizio Vannicelli Prize in Italian Studies. The Maurizio Vannicelli Prize in Italian Studies is awarded for the best essay on a theme of Italian literature or culture.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Morgan Sanders on receiving the 2020 John Paul Reardon Medal and Award. The John Paul Reardon Medal and Award was established in 1985 by John Paul Reardon, a former faculty member, in memory of the late Rev. J. Gerard Mears, S.J. The medal and award are given annually to a graduating student for excellence in studio art.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates American X. Gaylord on receiving the 2020 Purple Prize. The Purple Prize is awarded for the best poem submitted to "The Purple," a literary magazine written, edited and published by Holy Cross students to provide a showcase for critical and creative writing.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Cassandra J. Cheeseman on receiving the 2020 John C. Lawlor Medal. The John C. Lawlor Medal is awarded to the outstanding student and athlete throughout the college course.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Dannah J. Kaplan on receiving the 2020 John L. Philip Memorial American Sign Language Award. The John L. Philip Memorial American Sign Language Award is given to a graduating student who has demonstrated an interest in, and motivation to learn, American Sign Language (ASL) and to bring that learning to life. This student has integrated his/her classroom knowledge of ASL and Deaf culture with respect for, and interaction with, members of the Deaf Community.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Brooke K. Creedon on receiving the 2020 Oscar Romero Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies Award. The 2020 Oscar Romero Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies Award is given to a student who demonstrated academic excellence through the quality and diversity of coursework, outstanding participation in cultural programs, and significant engagement in service to the Latinx community.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Thomas J. Dzwonczyk on receiving the 2020 Markham Memorial Scholarship Award. The Markham Memorial Scholarship Award is given to a student majoring in philosophy who demonstrates the highest aptitude for philosophical inquiry and whose commitment to his or her studies best exemplifies the belief that "critical examination of fundamental religious and philosophical questions is integral to a liberal arts education."

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Erin E. Durkin on receiving the 2020 Susan Rodgers Anthropology Award. The Susan Rodgers Anthropology Award honors the one anthropology student who has demonstrated superior achievement in the discipline while an undergraduate at Holy Cross.
