College of the Holy Cross congratulates Nanrawee Kitiarsa on receiving the 2021 Karen Gottschang Turner Asian Studies Award. The Karen Gottschang Turner Asian Studies Award is presented to a fourth-year Asian Studies major or concentrator who has submitted the most outstanding piece of scholarly or artistic work as judged by a committee of Asian Studies faculty. The award also recognizes distinctive academic achievement in the Asian Studies curriculum and contribution to the Asian Studies Program.

Holy Cross Celebrates 175th Commencement

Holy Cross celebrated its 175th Commencement on Friday, May 21 on the College's Fitton Field. U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield delivered the address to 748 graduating seniors in the Class of 2021. In addition to Thomas-Greenfield, Holy Cross also awarded an honorary degree to Holy Cross alumnus Dr. Michael Collins '77, chancellor of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and senior vice president for the health sciences for the University of Massachusetts.

Gabe Piepergerdes receives Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award

Senior Gabe Piepergerdes, a member of the Holy Cross men's track and field team, has been selected as the 2020-21 winner of the Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award. Presented by the Holy Cross Varsity Club, the Allen Award goes to the player whose unselfish teamwork and dedication to the good of the team reflect the values lived by Coach Allen.

Holy Cross' Jolie Creo '22 Named All-Patriot League

Holy Cross junior Jolie Creo has been selected to the 2021 All-Patriot League second team in women's lacrosse, as voted by the conference's head coaches. Creo started all six games at attack for the Crusaders this season, and led the team in scoring with 36 points on 27 goals and nine assists.

Haley Walker Earns Academic All-Patriot League Honors

Holy Cross senior defender Haley Walker been selected to the 2021 Academic All-Patriot League women's lacrosse team, as announced by the conference office. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, and be a starter or key reserve.

Holy Cross Students Win in Multiple Categories at the Brenau Invitational Mediation Tournament

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Alison Emery '23, Angelo Carbone '22 and Bridget Whelpley '21, who took home multiple prizes at the Brenau Invitational Mediation Tournament. The team won second place in both the Mediator and Advocate/Client categories. In addition, students Bridget Whelpley '21 and Angelo Carbone '22 won first place in the individual award category for best Advocate /Client Scores. Whelpley also won first place In the Individual Mediator category and was presented with the Elizabeth Baumgardner Award, which is given to the Individual student with the highest combined score in the mediator and advocate roles at this tournament.

Thirty-one Holy Cross students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society founded in 1915, at a virtual ceremony held recently. The new inductees exemplify the society's values of excellence in scholarship, loyalty and service.

Holy Cross' Alexander Hamilton Society Awarded 'Best New Chapter' in 2020

Less than two years after its founding, the Holy Cross chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society won the "Best New Chapter" award. The national organization lauded the Holy Cross chapter for "cultivating a broad membership base" and "gaining a prominent place in campus life." The Alexander Hamilton Society is a non-profit, non-partisan student organization committed to principled U.S. leadership in global affairs and educating upcoming leaders about America's role in the world.

College of the Holy Cross' Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi Earns National Award

Holy Cross' Chapter Omicron Epsilon of the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society Sigma Delta Pi has been named an "Honor Chapter" for its outstanding activities in 2019-20, an award that was bestowed to only 11 out of 627 chapters nationwide in 2019. This is the 4th time since 1997 that Holy Cross has received this distinction. Co-Chapter Advisers Bridget Franco, Daniel Frost and Rodrigo Fuentes, as well as the 20 students involved in this society, were instrumental in earning this year's recognition.

The Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, is widely recognized as the most prestigious international exchange program in the world. The highly competitive grants are awarded on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential.

College of the Holy Cross congratulates Caroline Fredericks '21, Caitlin Marple '21 and Jake Mozeleski '22, who took part in the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) Vilnius. The team won first place in the Mediator category and placed fourth in the Advocate/Client pair category. In addition, students Caitlin Marple '21 and Jake Mozeleski '22 received first place individual awards in the Advocate/Client category, with Marple also receiving a third place individual award in the Mediator Category.
